Overview
The Movie Database project was a team effort of three, starting with wireframing and prototyping before turning our designs into a fully functional application. Users can search for movies across four main categories, watch trailers, view detailed information, and add films to their favourites. Our team collaborated effectively throughout, and the final result exceeded our expectations.
What I learned
I learned how to properly use an API key to fetch and display data within a React application, retrieve individual movie details using unique IDs with useParams for dynamic routing, and implement tab-based navigation to filter movie categories.
Looking back
Next time I’d organise the API logic to make the code more scalable, and improve loading and error states during data fetching. With more experience, I’d aim for a more optimised and structured application.
